I'm excited to have five of our men commiting to taking a course on Introduction To Preaching. They're on their 3rd of 12 weeks. We are grateful to God for using Pastor Garfield, pastor of Faith In Christ Fellowship, Daly City, in teaching these men of God.

I'm looking forward to what our God will do in and through their lives. Some of them will preach; others will teach a life group; all will be able to lead their family in falling in love with God and His Word. But most of all, I pray that as Peter said, "Grow in the grace and the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ." Soli Deo Gloria!

This is the first time I posted our Thursday morning Bible study in Hayward at 10 AM.

We just finished our talk on understanding Jehovah's Witnesses.

More than likely, Jehovah's Witnesses have knocked on your door. We learned that 9 of 10 Christians don't know how to answer a JW. That's a wake-up call to all of us.

We enjoyed dissecting passages JW's use to twist God's word.

An excellent book by Ron Rhodes is called, "Reasoning from the Scriptures with the Jehovah's Witnesses. It shows EVERY verse JW's use and provides a rebuttal on proper Biblical interpretation.

We were also reminded that they are in need of a Savior. We are to love and care for them and at the same time, know what and why we believe.

Understanding Jehovah's Witnesses DVD is an excellent run through of its history and a general talk on Christian doctrines - deity of Jesus, Holy Spirit, Bible, end times, etc.

Some thoughts....

"History shows us what can happen when a civilization turns its back on God - and it also shows us the extraordinary changes that can happen when a fresh knowledge of God is sought after and reincorporated into a culture's priorities."

The church's dirty little word is repentance. Today's church is filled with good christians and very few great ones. We have people at "church," who are pretenders of the faith. We have failed to take God seriously and abused His love, grace, and mercy. How often have we heard a message on God's Holiness? Rarely. The church is no different from the world.

It's time for the church to wake up! We need men and women like Josiah, who at the age of twenty, sought after God, smashing altars and idols of false religions - 2 Chronicles 34. At the age of twenty six, he "saw the Lord," and experienced personal revival. God calls us to repent - change our minds, our feelings, and LIFESTYLE about our gross sin towards God so that we can "see the Lord."

Last time, our Adult and the Singles (Wed night) learned what to do in order to live out the Bible. The simple yet powerful questions of Bible study has impacted a few of the people in the group.

"What does God's Word mean to me?" Apply

The fourth question, "How do I live it out?", was as powerful as the others. People got excited about the Word more than ever. We will never see the Scriptures the same again. God's Word is indeed alive and transforms the hearts!
